I often find planning a drawing to be the hardest part of the process. At times, it feels like I'm fighting against the persistent force of self-doubt and uncertainty. But this drawing was an exception. It seemed to compose itself with little of the usual frustration and anxiety. The figure's open pose so perfectly echoed the tulips in late bloom. It was a pleasure to draw.
